This unforgettable tour starts at the Valdez Airport where you'll board an R44 helicopter and fly high into the Chugach Mountains and Prince William Sound.
The star of the flight is Columbia Glacier.
The scenery is spectacular no matter where you look, but the star of the flight is certainly the Columbia Glacier. This massive river of ice is one of the most rapidly retreating glaciers in the world. You'll have a front row aerial seat to this very big, very active glacier. If you can take your eyes off the ice, take a look at your surroundings. From high peaks at the glacier's terminus to the jagged cliffs at its toe, the setting is extraordinary.
This heli excursion also features a glacier landing for a chance to explore moulins, blue pools, and more beautiful glacial features up close. After your time on the ice, your tour wraps up with a return to Valdez.

The Columbia Glacier Spectacular tour includes about 60 minutes of flightseeing and 30 minutes exploring the area at your landing site.
What to Bring
Proper gear is critical for comfort and safety in remote Alaskan environments. Dress in layers, bring sunglasses, and wear flat, closed-toe footwear. Glacier grip slippers to wear over your shoes will be provided on glacier landing tours.
Special Instructions
To calculate accurate weight and balance for the aircraft, each passenger must provide their weight when making a reservation. Please note, due to aircraft weight limitations, the maximum allowed weight per passenger is 290 pounds.

The tour departs from the Valdez Airport. Complimentary transportation from downtown Valdez is available when requested in advance.
