How to get from Fairbanks to Denali

Regardless of how you travel, it is a relatively quick trip from Fairbanks to Denali National Park, which is about 110 miles away by road. We offer train service, a van transfer, and it is an easy drive as well, although you can't drop a rental car in Denali Park.

Take the Train

The Denali Star train leaves Fairbanks at 8:20 AM and arriving in Denali Park around 12:10 PM in the summer. You can choose from the Adventure Class or GoldStar Dome service from the Alaska Railroad or try the luxe Wilderness Express service.

Van Service or Private Transfer

For a quick and economical choice, we offer a van transfer from Fairbanks to Denali Park. The van leaves Fairbanks around 7:30 AM and takes just two and a half hours or so. Drive Yourself

It is a quick two-hour drive to Denali National Park. You can't drop off a car in Denali Park, but we do offer one-way rentals with an Anchorage drop off.
