Itinerary

Fly into Anchorage and pick up your rental car. Overnight Anchorage.
Your first morning starts with an energizing guided snowshoe hike in the mountains above Anchorage. The afternoon is yours to explore. Rent a fat tire bike and ride the Coastal Trail, drive the Turnagain Arm, or stroll through the Anchorage Museum. There's much to see and do. Overnight Anchorage.
Today's full-day trip takes you north of Anchorage to one of the state's only road accessible glaciers. Even though access is simple, the Matanuska Glacier and surrounding area is astounding. You'll spend about two hours on the glacier before heading back to Anchorage in the late afternoon alpenglow. Overnight Anchorage
You'll make your way from Anchorage to Fairbanks today. Keep an eye out for Denali as you head out. If it's a clear day you'll have great views from the road between Willow and Denali State Park. After that, be sure to stop at Denali National Park to visit the Murie Science and Learning Center. Overnight Fairbanks.
Get ready for a day that could top all others on this Alaska winter itinerary. You're heading into the far north, well into the Arctic Circle, by plane. Your destination is Coldfoot where you'll be met by a guide for a narrated bus tour back to Fairbanks. Your chances are quite good to see the northern nights on the drive. Overnight Fairbanks.
Enjoy a leisurely morning before bundling up to see the sites of Fairbanks. Check out the Museum of the North or the town's fantastic cross country ski trails. Tonight you're off to Chena Hot Springs for a relaxing night of hot springs soaking and northern lights gazing.
This itinerary concludes with an early morning return to Fairbanks.
