Itinerary
Read on for a day-by-day breakdown of this tour package. Click on an item to get started, and be sure to contact us if you have any questions.
Fly into the Anchorage airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight Anchorage.
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you'll start your first full day in Alaska on a guided bike tour. The tour follows about nine miles of the Coastal Trail, a city path popular among locals (mainly people, but sometimes moose). The afternoon is yours to explore downtown shops, parks, bars, and restaurants. Overnight Anchorage.
You'll arrive at the Anchorage Depot early this morning to meet the Coastal Classic train to Seward. This route is among the most scenic in Alaska. The landscapes are diverse and much of it is only accessible by rail.
After you arrive into Seward, you'll head directly to the Small Boat Harbor for a day cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park. It's a favorite excursion for so many reasons: The cruise catamaran is stable and spacious, the wildlife diverse and abundant, and the views of coastal cliffsides and towering tidewater glaciers unparalleled. An onboard lunch is included. Overnight Seward.
Lace up your hiking boots, you're off to Exit Glacier today. The trail near the glacier is moderate, but the scenery stunning. To see a glacier like this, to explore it so closely, is an experience you'll never forget. Overnight Seward.
This relaxed day of travel provides a welcome breather after yesterday's adventures. You'll take the Park Connection Motorcoach from Seward to Talkeetna, stopping for a midday break in downtown Anchorage. Overnight Talkeetna.
Morning brings your first of three unique Denali National Park excursions, a flightseeing tour into the mountains at the heart of the park. Even better, you'll land on a glacier amidst those formidable peaks.
Spend your afternoon exploring the funky town of Talkeetna, then catch the Park Connection heading further north to your lodging in the small summer community near the Denali Park entrance. Overnight Denali.
Head out this morning on your second Denali National Park adventure. You'll take a guided bus tour down the Park Road, the only road that goes into the park. There's a good chance you'll see wildlife, from straw-colored grizzly bears to caribou and Dall sheep.
In the early evening, join a local guide on a three-hour naturalist walking tour. The trails are moderate, the pace relaxed, and the opportunities to learn about local flora and fauna innumerable. Overnight Denali.
Relax this morning and savor your final few hours in the Denali Park area before catching the train heading south to Anchorage. Your package concludes with a final overnight in Anchorage.
