Overview

Perched on the highest point for miles around, the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge boasts spectacular unobstructed views of Alaska's most famous mountain. The property is built to make the most of every chance to view Denali. Floor to ceiling windows line the expansive timber-framed lobby, large decks face west, and many of the lodge's guest rooms look to the range. Even when the illusive mountain isn't "out," the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge provides travelers a lovely place to rest, dine, and recharge on their Alaska trip.

There are three room types at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. Guest Lodge rooms are a short walk from the property's central building, giving value-conscious visitors a quiet option away from the bustling Main Lodge. Guests staying in rooms within the Main Lodge have easy access to restaurants and welcoming common areas. The premium Main Lodge Mountainside rooms all have stunning views of Denali on clear days.

The lodge offers three onsite dining options. Featuring local ingredients and a curated wine list, meals at the Foraker Dining Room taste like fine dining despite the restaurant's comfortably relaxed ambiance. The Base Camp Bistro serves equally delectable, but more casual fare. For a signature cocktail or cold draft, guests are encouraged to pull up a seat at the friendly Base Camp Lounge.

The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge is located one mile outside of Talkeetna. The property consists of a Main Lodge and several separate Guest Lodges. The Main Lodge houses the lobby, restaurants, lounge, and 149 guest rooms. The Guest Lodge buildings, which are a several hundred yards away, each have 60 exterior-entrance rooms. A walking trail connects the lodge with Talkeetna. There is plentiful free parking.

Amenities

Rooms in the Main Lodge have either one king or two queen beds and interior entrances. Rooms in Guest Lodge buildings have two double beds and exterior entrances. All rooms have a private full bath, hair dryer, coffeemaker, refrigerator, satellite television, telephone, and complementary WiFi. There are two onsite restaurants as well as a bar, coffee shop, and gift store. Guests also have access to a coin-operated laundry facility. Please note, facilities and amenities may be slightly different in the winter season.

Transfers and Shuttles

Guests traveling by train are provided shuttle service and luggage transfer between the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge and rail depot. Guests on the Park Connection motorcoach arrive and depart at the lodge. The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge runs a daily scheduled shuttle into town from 9 AM to 9 PM. Many local day tour operators provide complimentary pickup at the lodge.

There is no additional charge for children under the age of 12 sharing a room with an adult. Rates apply to the number of adults in the room. For example, "triple" refers to three guests age 12 or older.
