- Seward Tonsina Point Kayak & Exploration
Overview
The beauty of Resurrection Bay is best experienced by both land and sea. This combo excursion guides you there over seven relaxed hours of kayaking, beach combing, and rainforest walking. It starts with transportation from Seward to Lowell Point where your guides get the group outfitted in kayaking gear. After an orientation, it's out onto the water in tandem kayaks.
Explore the bay by land and sea.
The paddling pace is relaxed to give you the most time to soak in the scenery. Deep blue water, dark grey cliffs, lush green foliage. The dramatic natural beauty is undeniable. Wildlife is abundant, too. It's possible to see bald eagles, seals, otters, and all sorts of sea birds.
Once you've paddled ashore at Tonsina Point, it's time to explore the bay by land. You'll have time to walk through a ghost forest and wander tidal pools. Depending on the tides there's a chance to walk to a hidden waterfall. Late summer guests also have the opportunity to see salmon spawning in Tonsina Creek. After a picnic lunch and more time to explore, the beautiful day on Resurrection Bay concludes with a paddle back to the Lowell launch site and shuttle to Seward.
