Bear Glacier Iceberg Kayaking 11:00 AM
This 5.5 hours kayaking trip includes a jet boat ride out to Bear Glacier's lagoon. From the comfort of your kayaks, you will have about 2 to 2.5 hours to explore the massive icebergs that are deposited by Bear Glacier, the Harding Icefield's largest glacier. You'll enjoy the stability of the sit-on-top ocean kayaks in the glacier's calm lagoon while you out the huge floating chunks of ice around you. The features in the lagoon change daily, and your guides' job is to expertly navigate your group safely through the maze of ice created by the calving glacier. Wildlife also varies day to day with good chances to view harbor seals and black bears. After kayaking through the lagoon, you will return by jet boat to the Seward Small Boat Harbor. This trip is limited to a maximum of 6 persons.
Please note, the minimum age for this adventure is 11 years old. While this trip is appropriate for beginner kayakers, it is still an active trip outdoors, and often runs in cold and rainy weather. There is a 2 person minimum for this trip.
