Overview
Guests who have taken the popular IdidaRide Real Alaska Tour often call it the "Greatest Hits" trip. In one six-hour excursion you can enjoy several classically Alaskan experiences. Best yet, the tour is fully guided by lifelong Alaskans.
A greatest hits tour of classic Alaskan experiences.
After a pickup at the Seward rail depot, the day trip starts with a tour of a local Iditarod sled dog racing kennel. Mushers demonstrate how Alaskan Huskies are trained and cared for before harnessing excited teams to a summer sled (a cart on wheels) and taking visitors for a fun two-mile training run. Guests have plenty of time to meet the amazing canine athletes and, if the timing is right, hold a few of the kennel's newest puppies.
The tour continues with lunch at local restaurant before heading to Kenai Fjords National Park. Here, the group takes a guided hike over moderate terrain for a beautiful view of Exit Glacier. Guests who do not want to hike can explore the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center instead. To conclude the trip, the group heads back to Seward for a historical city tour and a stop at the Bear Creek Weir to view spawning salmon.
