Park Connection motorcoach departs everyday from Anchorage.

Bus Whittier to Anchorage

Transfer quickly and comfortably to Anchorage from cruise ships ending their voyages in Whittier.

Overview

Whether the transfer marks the end of an Alaskan trip or just the beginning of a land package, this Park Connection Motorcoach route makes for a quick, easy, and beautifully scenic link to Anchorage.

A scenic post-cruise transfer to Anchorage.

The 60-mile transfer starts by passing through the one-lane tunnel connecting Whittier to the road system on the other side of the mountains. At over two miles, it is the second longest highway tunnel in the United States. The view opens spectacularly as the motorcoach emerges into Portage Valley, with mountains, glaciers, and waterfalls on display in every direction.

The route connects with the Seward Highway, and continues west along the Turnagain Arm. The landscape is big and wild, with a large tidal swing stirring silty waters towered over by 5,000-foot-high mountains. Passengers have the chance to snap photos all along the way, thanks to the motorcoach's large picture windows.

The Whittier to Anchorage Park Connection route runs only on cruise ship days. It is a good option for passengers transferring to Anchorage from cruise ships that end their itineraries in Whittier. The morning cruise transfer leaves from the Whittier cruise terminal at 9:45 AM, and drops off at the Anchorage airport and downtown Dena'ina Civic Center around 12 PM.
