Alaska Hotels & Lodges
Alaska Tour & Travel specializes in accommodations along Alaska's "rail belt" between Seward and Fairbanks, offering a carefully curated selection of lodging to fit every style, schedule, and budget.
Traditional hotel rooms are abound in Alaska's larger cities like Anchorage and Fairbanks. Many of these properties provide shuttle transportation to and from the airport or Alaska Railroad depot, and some are located within walking distance of downtown attractions.
Just outside Denali National Park, in what's commonly called the Denali canyon area, multiple properties offer a variety of room styles and amenities. The Grande Denali Lodge and Denali Bluffs Hotel are highly recommended to independent travelers for their easy access to the Denali National Park entrance via regular shuttle service. Other Denali Park hotels offer standard hotel rooms or cabins for both premium and value travelers.
In the Kenai Peninsula community of Seward, the Harbor 360 Hotel and Gateway Hotel are just steps away from the town's Small Boat Harbor. Each hotel offers mountain views and a complimentary continental breakfast. The Seward Windsong Lodge is located just outside of town in scenic Resurrection Valley. It's a good choice for those combining a day cruise with a visit to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.
For travelers visiting the little town of Talkeetna, the beautiful Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge has unbeatable views of Denali when the weather is clear. About an hour north, the McKinley Princess Lodge is situated atop a bluff overlooking the Chulitna River. It features forest scenery, walking trails, and several dining options.
Off the beaten path explorations by rental car often include overnights in Copper Center, Palmer, Homer, or Valdez. Of those destinations, the backcountry Alaska Glacier Lodge, Homer Aspen Hotel, and the Totem Hotel and Suites in Valdez are quite popular among independent travelers.
Many Alaska properties are only open during the busy summer season between May and September, and rooms go fast. We highly recommended that visitors make reservations early.
