Summer days in Alaska are long, both in terms of daylight and in the many activities they can contain. That makes returning to the comfort of clean, well-appointed accommodations the perfect complement to a full day. In Alaska, there are three main types of lodging: Cabins, backcountry lodges, and more traditional hotels.
Of these, Alaska cabin rentals are the most iconic. Many of our guests are eager to call a cabin home for a few nights, and with good reason. With roughhewn logs and homey decor, they're cozy and classically Alaskan. The entrance area to Denali National Park has the largest concentration of cabin rentals. We also book riverside cabins farther north in Fairbanks and south toward Anchorage near the small town of Palmer.
Wilderness lodges go even further in providing a genuine Alaskan experience. Our most popular lodges are deep within Denali National Park in Kantishna. These properties are reachable only by guided bus trip or small plane, and while they're rich in amenities and especially good food, it's their backcountry solitude that stands out.
Outside of these specialty lodging types, there are plentiful traditional Alaskan hotels ranging from modern all-suite properties to large lodges.
Many guests opt to include all three types of lodging in their custom Alaska vacation packages. Our local reservation agents can guide you in selecting top-rated accommodations that fit your needs, personality, and budget.
Note that rooms book quickly during the summer months, especially in the Denali Park area, Seward, and Anchorage. Make your reservations early.
