After departing the Homer airport, views quickly expand as your pilot navigates south over the dark blue bay water on the way to Grewingk Glacier. Your destination is clear from the get-go. The glacier cascades steeply down and around the mountains, their prominent peaks sharp and grey above the jagged blue ice.

The tour includes two landings, one in the high alpine above the glacier and the other on the beach of the glacial lake at its toe. Throughout the summer ice calves from the glacier, dotting the water with dramatic icebergs. After some time to explore and admire these once-in-a-lifetime views, your helicopter tour concludes with a return flight across the bay to Homer.

The Grand Glaciers & Waterfalls tour lasts two hours and includes two remote landings. About 30 minutes of the tour is flight time, with the rest spent exploring a high alpine ridge overlooking the Grewingk Glacier and a beach along the glacial lake. Exact landing locations will change based on the conditions.

What to Bring

Proper gear is critical for comfort and safety in remote Alaskan environments. Dress in layers and bring a warm waterproof jacket. Make sure to wear sturdy close-toed shoes. Don't forget a camera and a sense of adventure.

Special Instructions

This is a moderately active excursion with opportunities to walk short distances on uneven terrain at landing sites. To calculate accurate weight and balance for the aircraft, each passenger must provide their weight when making a reservation.
