Overview

In a big state like Alaska, traveling from place to place can take quite a bit of time. This one-way 4x4 SUV or van rental ensures that travelers can see as much as possible while they're in the state.

Both 4x4 SUV and van rentals are permitted on Alaska's many rustic "highways," so the time saved can be spent exploring these remote roads rather than backtracking. With a pickup in Fairbanks and a drop in Anchorage, independent travelers could check out a few hours of the Dalton Highway north of Fairbanks, drive the full length of Denali Highway from Cantwell to Paxson, and even head out on the McCarthy Road into Wrangell-St. Elias National Park in a single vacation.

This one-way 4x4 or van rental can be returned to the South Terminal of Anchorage's Ted Stevens International Airport.

All vehicles listed are authorized on any maintained dirt or gravel roads within Alaska including the Denali Highway, McCarthy Road, and Dalton Highway. While permitted on these roads, note that Van (15 passenger) rentals are 2x4 vehicles. No vehicles are authorized for off-road use or river crossings.
