Overview

Everyone could use a dash of adrenaline during their Alaska trip, and the Denali Park Zipline certainly delivers. After a complimentary shuttle ride from the Denali Park area, the excitement starts with a bumpy and sometimes muddy ATV ride to the course. Here, guides gear up their small groups in full-body harnesses, helmets, and gloves.

The Denali Park Zipline course features a series of zips and bridges connecting towering platforms. The tallest of these is the Ascending Bridge Tower. Guides take their groups up four aerial bridges angled higher and higher till they top out at the uppermost platform. One at a time, guests take their first of several thrilling zipline rides to a faraway platform nearly hidden by the forest. These are self-braking zips, so guests can lean back and enjoy as the wind rushes and trees flash by.

As the course continues, it provides new challenges and adventures. There are ladders, more aerial bridges, and ziplines of increasing length and speed. The course is also a scenic one. While waiting on those high platforms, zipliners can easily peak above the treetops to the mountains beyond. The tour winds down with a final zip that pits guests against each other on side-by-side racing lines back to ground level.

More Details

The Denali Park Zipline features seven ziplines, six suspension bridges, and a bridge tower. Much of the tour runs above the treetops. There is a maximum of eight guests per tour. Tours operate rain or shine.

What to Bring

Guests should wear sturdy close-toed shoes, long pants, and dress in comfortable layers. A rain jacket is recommended. Guests are welcome to bring a camera, but are responsible for transporting it during the zipline tour.

Special Instructions

Participants must weigh between 70 and 280 pounds, and be at least 8 years old. The tour requires active participation. Guests must be able to climb stairs and ladders, go from a seated to standing position without difficulty, and raise their arms above their heads. This tour is not appropriate for those with recent/chronic back, neck, or knee issues.
