- Denali Trailblazer ATV Tour (Side by Side)
Overview
The side-by-side Trailblazer Adventure ATV excursion begins with a shuttle ride out of Denali Park to the ATV staging area about 15 minutes away. Here, tour guides give a safety brief and outfit both drivers and passengers with helmets, goggles, and rain gear if the weather calls for it.
Weave through forests, creeks, and boggy tundra.
Once all drivers pass through a beginner safety course with their side-by-side ATV, the guides lead the group into an expansive network of off-roading trails. The farther into the foothills they go, the more adventurous the path ahead becomes. Drivers maneuver their side-by-sides through forests and bogs, climb to overlooks, and drop steeply into creek beds. It's an oftentimes muddy, regularly dusty good time.
More time on the trail means more time for exploring, so guides take frequent rest stops to point out landmarks and talk a bit about the local history. After a couple hours ATVing through the backcountry, the group returns to base camp and catches the shuttle back to the Denali Park area.
More Details
The Trailblazer Adventure ATV tour covers about 20 miles, with 2.5 hours spent on the trail. Tour goers drive or ride in their own two-person side-by-side with half doors, a windshield, and roof. The listed rate includes both the driver and passenger. There is no discount for one person in a side-by-side, but a single-rider ATV option is available for this trip. Each tour has two guides. Tours operate rain or shine.
What to Bring
All side-by-side ATVs are open vehicles. Riders will be exposed to the elements. Guests should wear sturdy close-toed shoes they don't mind getting dirty, and dress in warm layers. A rain jacket is highly recommended. Additional rain gear is provided as the weather requires. Guests are welcome to bring a small backpack or camera, but are responsible for safely carrying these items during the ride.
Special Instructions
This tour is suitable for novice to expert ATV drivers. All drivers must understand English and have a valid driver's license. Minimum age to drive the vehicle is 18 years old or 16 years old with parental approval and valid driver's license (parent must also be on tour).
