Denali Park Cabins
Some people choose to stay in cabins to experience a taste of rustic life authentic to the Denali National Park area. Others like cabins as an option for budget-conscious travel or backwoods privacy. Whatever your reason, a cabin stay near the park entrance ensures a restful retreat after a busy day exploring the area.
There are several options for cabin lodging near Denali National Park. Note that none, with the exception of a few Denali wilderness lodges, are actually located inside the park boundary. That said, most cabins are situated among beautiful forestland just north or south of the main entrance, with a variety of amenities available.
The Denali Cabins are located eight miles south of the park entrance, with transportation available to both the park and Denali Depot on a frequent basis throughout the day. There are many configurations for cabins, ranging from traditional to suite-style, making this the perfect way to travel with friends or family.
Along the Nenana River, about six miles from the park entrance, sits Denali Park Village and their rustic cedar cabins. The cabins are tucked into the woods just steps away from the main resort. Here you can walk along the property's pathways, enjoy several onsite dining options, and relax while overlooking the Nenana River.
For the budget-minded traveler, try the Denali Grizzly Bear Resort just across the Parks Highway from the Denali Park Village. The property offers a fee-based shuttle to the train depot, but not to the park entrance, so the resort is best suited to the independent traveler with a rental car. There are no dining options onsite. The cabins are either standard or premium style and are situated along the Nenana River.
We always recommend that travelers spend at least two consecutive nights in the Denali National Park area to take advantage of the many bus tours, hiking trails, adventure excursions, and interpretive activities available.
