Overview

Just a five-minute shuttle ride from the entrance to Denali National Park, the Holland America Denali Lodge sits on a rise above the Nenana River. This busy property is frequented by tour groups and is often buzzing with excited visitors traveling through this well-known corner of Alaska.

The resort is home to more than 500 standard guest rooms in several separated cedar buildings throughout the spacious property. Although the hotel does not guarantee room types, they offer guest rooms with one king bed, two queen beds, two doubles, or one king with a double pullout couch. The property features a large amphitheater where guests can enjoy free live music and educational presentations, or gather around a fire circle to exchange stories from the day.

There are two restaurants onsite, the upscale Canyon Steakhouse and the casual Karstens Public House. Along with scrambles and skillets, the Canyon Steakhouse's full morning menu features several signature egg benedicts. Steak naturally tops the dinner menu, as does local Alaskan seafood. The fare at Karstens Public House playfully blends local favorites with flavors from the lower 48 for a scrumptious yet relaxed breakfast, lunch, or dinner meal. Guests can also enjoy a drink and small bite to eat at the attached bar overlooking the Nenana River.

The Holland America Denali Lodge property consists of the main lobby, two restaurants, lounge, outdoor common areas, and several separate guest room buildings. The hotel provides luggage assistance and transportation to rooms as needed. The lodge is located one mile from the Denali National Park entrance. Although some rooms have views, no Denali Park hotel has views of Mt. Denali.

Transfers and Shuttles

The Holland America Denali Lodge provides extensive local shuttle service for guests between the hotel and Denali rail depot, Denali National Park Visitor Center, and other local attractions and services. Many local tour operators pick up guests for their day tours at the hotel. Guests arriving by train will be met by hotel staff at the depot. Guests arriving by Park Connection motorcoach will be dropped off at the hotel. Free parking is available for guests driving their own vehicles.
