Lodge Update: Due to planned construction, the National Park Service is limiting Park Road access beyond mile 43. The Denali Backcountry Lodge is open to fly-in guests only and must be booked directly. Our reservation agents are available to help coordinate transportation and lodging outside the park, just give us a call at 800-208-0200. Please check the Park Road page for additional park information.
Overview
The Denali Backcountry Lodge is a peaceful place, tucked among cottonwoods on the banks of Moose Creek deep within Denali National Park. It is an isolated area that gold miners in the old days once traveled weeks to reach. Today's travelers enjoy a much more comfortable trip into the wilds aboard a guided wildlife bus tour. The cozy lodge and its comfortable private cabins await at the end of the road.
A comfortable trip into the wilds.
Days at the lodge can be spent any number of ways. Guests eager to see the area by foot can pick from three daily guided hikes offering easy, moderate, and more strenuous trails. Guests can try their luck at gold panning or check out mountain bikes to pedal the Park Road. The lodge also runs twice-daily shuttles to Wonder Lake. After returning from the day's adventures, guests can indulge in a relaxing massage at the lodge's spa, or simply sit by the creek for a quiet respite.
All meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks are included in a stay at the Denali Backcountry Lodge. A hot breakfast buffet includes eggs, bacon, French toast or waffles, cereals, pastries, fresh fruits, juice, and coffee. A salad, soup, and sandwich buffet is provided for guests who are at the lodge for lunch, while guests away on a day hike are sent out with sack lunches. For dinner, all guests gather around big tables to share in a family-style meal accompanied by salad and dessert. Alcoholic beverages are available from the lodge's well-stocked upstairs bar.
