Viking Ocean Cruises, the sister company to Viking River Cruises, is based in Woodland Hills, California. It is the newest cruise line to sail to Alaska. Viking Ocean ships offer a clean Scandinavian design. That same Northern European influence is also found in its dining rooms, onboard spas, and cabins.

Viking Ocean Cruises offer a small ship experience. The company seeks to provide innovative itineraries with most cruise routes offering overnight stays at one or more of the ports of call. The Viking cruise line also offers its passengers an inclusive experience. One shore excursion at each port, all dining, spa entry, and even some alcoholic beverages are included in the passenger fare.

Viking Ocean Cruises seek to connect their passengers with their destination through local food, performances, and nightly port talks. The cruise line also provides educational opportunities, including hosting resident historians, guest lecturers, and TED talks. Typical Viking cruisers are well traveled and fairly affluent. Viking does not allow passengers under 18 on board.
