Even with its full refurb in 2022, the Zaandam still boasts something of a traditional ocean liner feel. Polished wood, gleaming brass, and richly toned upholstery set the scene for classic cruising. There aren't the flashy eateries and amenities of other popular Alaska cruise lines, nor are there myriad activities for kids, making for a more refined onboard experience. There is one pop of personality in the ship's theme of music: Throughout the ship you'll find music memorabilia from the likes of Keith Richards, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, and even the great B.B. King.
