"REALLY FANTASTIC FOR KIDS. We spent six hours here on our last day before heading to the airport. The restaurant in the museum was nice as well."

Telling the true story of the North.
"Living Our Cultures, Sharing Our Heritage: The First Peoples of Alaska" is the museum's flagship permanent exhibition. There are more than 600 Smithsonian artifacts from Alaska's native cultures on display, ranging from an Aleut hunting hat, to a Yupik gut parka, to a Tlingit battle helmet. The exhibit also features two multimedia installations playing recordings of native storytellers. The "Art of the North" wing complements this cultural display, showcasing historical and contemporary depictions of Alaska's animals, people, and landscapes.
The museum also houses a popular restaurant and gift shop. Serving lunch and dinner, the Muse restaurant features creative-casual fare and beer and wine flights. Visitors to the gift shop will find authentic art and jewelry crafted by indigenous artists, a selection of Alaska photo books, apparel, and stylish home goods.
With artwork, artifacts, and interactive displays, the popular Anchorage Museum is a perfect stop for visitors with time to spare while in Anchorage. Visitors typically spend up to two hours exploring the exhibits. The museum is wheelchair accessible.
Guests with custom travel packages do not have to use their Anchorage Museum ticket on the day specified on their itinerary.
